We have based the selection of topics for our program on the list of medical conditions published in the Candidate Handbook of the Commission for Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy Disease State List (http://www.ccgp.org/sites/default/files/CCGP_ContentOutline2014.pdf). Completion of all of our lessons will provide a strong foundation for preparation to challenge the CGP exam.

H
owever, you should also visit the CCGP "Candidate Page” at http://www.ccgp.org/candidate  to download the candidate handbook and review all of the details and requirements of the exam.  The page also tells you how to register for the exam when you are ready.

Allergic rhinitis is the most common type of rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal mucosa), which affects some 10% to 20% of the population.1 Although allergic rhinitis has been viewed as a young person's disease, it has become increasingly common in older individuals, and it is often overlooked as a cause of respiratory symptoms.2 The prevalence of allergic rhinitis in people older than 65 years is approximately 5.4% to 10.7%.3 Patients older than 50 years tend to have a higher frequency of isolated ocular symptoms than younger patients.3
