Advanced Travel Health Services
All pharmacists should be providing some basic travel health services in their practice. Basic travel health services include safe food and water recommendations as well as assessment for the need for and provision of common vaccines such as those protecting against food- and water-borne illnesses (e.g., travellers’ diarrhea, hepatitis A, and typhoid fever).
As patients travel beyond low-risk countries, their travel health needs can become more complicated, requiring a more in-depth consultation and personalized recommendations. This program discusses some of the travel topics relevant to pharmacists interested in stepping up their travel health practice.
